A probable prime is not enough. The method, algorithm, source and hardware must be disclosed; the result must be reproducible, peer reviewed in an approved journal and independently verifiable.
For a qualifying GIMPS participant only, if the discovery is independently verified and the EFF pays its award to GIMPS. This is an allocation of the EFF award, not an additional $50,000 on top of $150,000.
